This automata portrays the cycle of a phoenix. It cycles through four stages starting with a clear acrylic box of ash, then a 3d printed egg, followed by a small bird, and then a full phoenix. To move between the different stages I used a CAM that brought up the different stages one at a time and then brought them back down. I 3d printed the cams and built most of the enclosure out of laser cut MDF, using mostly finger joints.
